I am a person centered, strength based and trauma informed LCSW. I have a passion, training and expertise in individual, couples, family, and group therapy. I support LQBTQ and alternative life styles.

 

I am trained In EMDR and find this a very successful tool. I am trained and have at least 20 years of experience in working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. I have provided therapy for individual struggling with addiction, all mental health disorders, chronic pain, caretaker burnout and life transitions.

 

I collaborated in developing a six-week parenting class, 24 week curriculum for victims and perpetrators of domestic violence.

 

I utilize evidenced based therapeutic interventions – CBT, DBT, mindfulness, EMDR, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy.

 

I partner with my clients to expand insight and find coping skills that will enable individuals to thrive in all areas of life.

Rachel comes with over 15 years of experience in the psychology and mental health fields, 20 years in health, fitness, and wellness, and a bachelor's degree in Classical studies with honors from the #1 university in the nation, the University of Florida! She has course work in Play Therapy, certifications in child therapy, and a PhD in Psychology (in progress). Rachel works with children, teens, and adults and specializes in helping people with depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. She provides talk therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and draws from many other evidence-based psychotherapies while also collaborating in treatment to find the resources best for each client. Sometimes medication may be helpful and collaborating with a doctor and other times, as research shows, CBT works as effectively as most medications for many disorders. 

 

Rachel provides relationship counseling for married couples and premarital counseling, has training from the Gottman Insitute, as well as other certifications.
